A MUST Do: Be a Grant Reviewer Presentation

This is the "A MUST Do: Be a Grant Reviewer" presentation slides and handouts from the June 17, 2020 chapter presentation by Ericka Harney (zip folder).
Grant professionals are always looking for ways to improve proposals. Serving as a peer reviewer is an eye-opening experience into the grant process, as well as a particular agency, new ideas and programs, and network with other professionals. Federal agencies and some foundations rely on professionals in academia and nonprofit fields with specific knowledge and experience to gauge proposals against scoring criteria set by the funding agency.

Even though each funding agency is different, this session explored how you become a reviewer, what to expect with the process and what to glean from the experience. Take your grant professional career to the next level by serving as a reviewer!

Grant professionals attending this workshop will leave having learned:
* Where federal agencies post reviewer information
* Requirements for reviewers
* How to become registered for reviewer pools
* Training and conference call requirements
* Roles within the review process
* What a review panel is tasked with
* What to expect once placed on a panel
* Time table for the work
* Compensation for reviewers
* Ethics and confidentiality in grant reviews
